Important — Introduction Platform Notice

Tunza is an introduction platform, not a regulated care agency. We connect care users with self-employed carers. Tunza does not employ carers, guarantee care quality, or supervise the provision of care. Once introduced, the care arrangement is directly between you and the carer. All carers on Tunza have submitted to enhanced DBS disclosure and provided evidence of public liability insurance, but it remains your responsibility to conduct your own due diligence before engaging any carer.

1. The Service

Tunza Ltd operates an online platform that enables care users (or their authorised family representatives) to search for and be introduced to self-employed carers. The platform is an introduction service only. Tunza is not a domiciliary care agency as defined under the Care Act 2014 and is not registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

2. Introduction Fee

A one-time introduction fee of £49 is charged per successful carer introduction. This fee is non-refundable once messaging is unlocked and the introduction has been made. The fee is eligible for reimbursement through NHS Direct Payments and Personal Health Budgets — users should retain their receipt for submission.

3. Carer Status

All carers on Tunza are self-employed individuals. They are not employees or agents of Tunza Ltd. Care users who engage a carer on a regular basis should seek their own advice regarding employment status, tax, and National Insurance obligations under HMRC guidelines (IR35 adjacent rules may apply).

4. DBS Verification

Tunza requires all carers to provide evidence of an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check before their profile becomes visible. DBS verification is a pre-condition of listing but does not constitute a guarantee of suitability. Tunza does not conduct ongoing monitoring of carers' DBS status. Care users are encouraged to request sight of the original DBS certificate from any carer before beginning a care arrangement.

5. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tunza Ltd is not liable for: (a) the quality, safety, or outcome of any care provided; (b) any loss, injury, or damage arising from a carer introduction; (c) any dispute between a care user and a carer. Tunza's total liability in any circumstances shall not exceed the introduction fee paid.

6. Safeguarding

Tunza takes safeguarding seriously. Any user may report a safeguarding concern through the platform. Upon receipt, Tunza will suspend the relevant carer profile pending investigation and notify the Care Quality Commission if required. Tunza is not a regulated body and cannot guarantee the outcome of any investigation.

7. Data Protection

Tunza processes personal data in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Care needs information is stored as special category data and encrypted at rest. Users have the right to access, correct, and erase their personal data. For erasure requests, email privacy@tunza.co.uk. Tunza will anonymise rather than delete review data to preserve platform integrity.

8. Account Termination

Tunza reserves the right to suspend or remove any carer or care user account at its absolute discretion, including but not limited to: misleading profile information; inappropriate conduct; safeguarding concerns; or repeated negative reviews.

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
